I can't stop ( dry ) coughing but I don't feel sick. Whats wrong with me?!

Question:

I can't stop ( dry ) coughing but I don't feel sick. Whats wrong with me?

Ive been dry coughing for a little while now with no other symptons but I seem to get a little worse every day. A girl at my school had the contagious tuberculosis disease so Im a little worried.

However, im a singer and ive been singing for a worshop 3 times a day the past week plus practices so my mom says my throats just sore. And only 10% of people infected with M tuberculosis ever develop tuberculosis disease, and most people with the disease don't show symptons for years. In addition all the other TB symptoms –loss of weight, loss of energy, poor appetite, fever, a productive cough, and night sweats– I don't have. Am i really sick or is it all in my head?

Answers:

You may have an allergy or you could have asthma. You could also have acid reflux. There are a lot of things that can cause a cough without any accompanying sickness, but these are the most likely.

I wouldn't worry too much about the TB.
