My son has a fever of 102 with no other symptoms. The fever is not responding to medicine. What should I do?
The doctor is telling me there is nothing they can do today but if it gets worse tomorrow, then come in. Why can I not come in today? What could it possible be if he has a fever with no other symptoms. He is only 3 years old.

As a mother I can tell you to do what you feel needs to be done, always trust your instincts. If you feel he needs to be seen, insist that he gets in to the Dr, that is your right as a mother. I have been there and done that having 2 children myself. People can tell you not to worry, but that is imposible! With no other symptoms it could just be a virus, you can alternate tylenol and motrin, if that is not working try a tepid bath, cool not cold water, that is sure to bring it down.
