How much does mole removal hurt?!

Question: How much does mole removal hurt?
Well my appointment is at 2.30. So leaving to go in 30mins. The mole is just under my nose, its like the size of a pencil eraser and its raised. I'm having a local anaesthetic. How much does it hurt? On a scale on 1-10 with 10 being agony.. and can you compare it to other pains? Is it like a shot? :/ or stinging nettles?

Answers:

The numbing shot will hurt more than anything, and it will just feel like a few little bee stings. Don't worry, the procedure will be over before you know it.

Personal - I've had probably 20 moles removed and I'm only 30.

2. you can just feel it tug. They anesthitize you, and just cut it off. plain and simple.

Example from one who had laser surgery to remove freckles:
I had laser surgery to remove my freckles yesterday . . .?
she said it will be sore the first day and boy was it and she said i may have some swelling, well i woke up this morning and the skin under my eyes is swollen so bad that my eyes are almost closed. i took a goodies headache medicine because it says it contains an anti-inflammatory drug, i also have an ice pack on my eyes. What else should i do? Should what i'm already doing help?

I had a mole removed on my thigh, the same size as yours. He had took a biopsy, and had 3-4 stitches? can't remember. But it got infected, since I couldn't keep it dry while taking a shower. It was still throbbing, and the scar was 3x more. I went back to my dermatologist, and she injected something around the area, to make the scar go away, and it did stopped the throbbing. That was 8 years ago, and now it starts to throb on/off. I should just left it alone, they said it wasn't a danger, but the throbbing and the mole annoyed me! It didn't hurt much, because he numbed the area.

The next best solution is to avoid the sun. Any new moles will only get larger and darker.

Sunscreen will not protect you from getting burned.

Sunscreen will not protect you from skin cancer.

Sunscreen will not protect you if you have allergies, I never thought I had allergies!

Sunscreens also discolor your skin - for ever!

But I had Discoid Lupus caused from the sun. Google it. Took 12 years for mine to almost 'fade'. I don't want any more lupus appearing on my skin, so now I'm more & more into protecting myself.

I'm the kind of person who has families with moles as large as raisin-size. I don't want moles on my body, so I always have been concern about that. But, how I got lupus? I don't know! I got it period.

The sun is more powerful than most people think.

I'm 60 and I can count how many small moles I have, since childhood. I'm always wearing my wide brim hat.
