can my son catch either athletes foot or verrucas from other peoples shoes or the floor whilst wearing his socks

Both verrucas and fungal infections can be caught from wearing other peoples shoes. In socks it would be more difficult to catch these from just walking on the floor. Verrucas can certainly be caught walking in bare feet.
