I think this question is premature. No one has diagnosed you with gallbladder disease. Everything you have listed in your narrative could be related to the pregnancy or your history of acid reflux. You have not listed any concrete symptoms of gallbladder disease; most typically PAIN (upper abdomen, greater under right rib cage can radiate to chest and right shoulder blade, associated with meals high in fat. No foods high in fat, no gallbladder spasms, no pain. Diarrhea is not a symptom of gallbladder disease, overly full feeling could be part of your GERD. Nausea and vomiting are quite common in the first trimester of pregnancy, but along with the diarrhea, I'd be thinking more viral (Gastroenteritis). I'd be speaking to your primary to control your GERD symptoms, mention the diarrhea and vomiting which may be viral, schedule a ultrasound if you are insistent on gallbladder issues to rule this out and follow up for routine prenatal care. Try and stay hydrated to prevent problems with the pregnancy. Avoid things that irritate and cause more diarrhea (citrus, grape, apple juice, milk and all milk products) foods helpful to bind stool: bananas, rice, applesauce toast/bread. Stick to gatorade and water, avoid caffeine, alcohol, tobacco. Continue small frequent meals and avoid laying down after eating, sleep with your head elevated 3 pillows or a wedge pillow.
If gallbladder surgery is necessary it can be performed.
Emergency Room Nurse
You can have your gallbladder removed while you are pregnant. You will need to be sure to find a surgeon who is experienced. He/She will go over the risks and benefits with you and the two of you will make a game plan.
RN (GI surgery)
No, they won't do a cholestectomy while you are pregnant. Too much risk to the fetus. I feel your pain, quite literally at this moment, but they won't do it.
Your confused. Puking blood has to do with ulcers not gallbladders. How can we help go to a dr and stop SCREAMING at us.
