Husband has wingworm?!
Question:
Husband has wingworm?
What can I do to treat it and NOT spread it to my infant or kids?
Answers:
Ringworm is fungal infection. Sometimes this fungal infection will clear up on its own. However, sometimes it won't, in which case you can try treating it with over the counter anti-fungal products like miconazole will sometimes help, but for extreme cases, you may need to go in to see your family physician.
Ringworm can be transmitted by direct skin to skin contact, or via fomites (items which the fungus is on, such as bathroom floors or unwashed clothes or shoes, etc). The most important thing is to wash down every surface you can think of, and then do a LOT of laundry - clothes, bedsheets, towels, shoes, etc. Use hot water (if you can, depending on the fabric), and a decent detergent.
Hope this helps you! ;o)
