How curable is squamous carcinoma of the eye?!

Question: How curable is squamous carcinoma of the eye?
My grandpa has been diagnosed with squamous carcinoma on his eye. So there a tumor on his eyeball. He's going to the optometrist or something to get it surgically removed. I was wondering if it's a very curable cancer or if it's a more incurable type. He probably got it because he works at a golf course, so he's in the sun a lot. Is this something I should be worried about or not?

Answers:

Even within certain groups of Cancer the Malignancy can vary quite a bit. Ostio-Sarcoma (Bone Cancer) can almost be Benign, making it very hard to treat, and on the other hand it can be incredibly aggressive, doubling Tumor size in less than a month. My advice as a Cancer Survivor to you is to get him to a Doctor and listen to the Doctor, the chances of someone on here having a good answer are very low. If it does make you feel better the last 20 or so years have had some amazing breakthroughs on cancer treatment.

Its virtually 100% curable. The biggest issue is the damage done by the tumors or the surgery needed to remove them. It could be possible that he will lose the affected eye, bu tit depends on the size and location of the tumor .

Someone I know has recently had surgery for this. They take out the tumor and then treat the eye chryogenically...she found it painful . But she is fine and the prognosis is good ...so don't worry too much
