Question:

How do doctors check for herpes?

I have something that looks like a zit white pus came out is it a zit or cold sore help im freaking out here

Answers:

The most common way, and the most preferred way, of testing for herpes is when the person is experiencing an outbreak. The doctor will do a physical exam, which sometimes includes a pap smear for women, and they can also take a fluid sample from the sores.

If a person is not on an outbreak they can be test by a blood sample.

Good luck!
