Answers:
No. In fact, the world is not reacting severely or quickly enough. Some travel should be stopped ASAP, for example. If this flu is not THE PANDEMIC, then one that is will come along sooner or later, and we should be taking this opportunity to engage in best practices on personal, local and national levels.
the swine flu is sooooooo 2010 dawg
There better be, like, robo-copolio or something this year
Yes
All flu is worthy of concern for the suffering and deaths caused, and for the tremendous loss of productivity and school attendance it brings every year. Everyone who can get an annual flu shot should. The specific concern with swine flu is that it seriously impacts patient groups who usually are not affected by seasonal flu: young people and pregnant women. Seasonal flu mostly produces serious illness and death in the elderly and immune-compromised and those with existing respiratory illness. Swine flu is capable of killing otherwise healthy young people. We're fortunate that the current flu vaccine covers swine flu now, and again, vaccination is vital.
