*Could* kidney cancer come back? - Yes. As with any cancer, there is always that risk of relapse, usually due to treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation. Now, *Will* it come back? Not necessarily. As the previous answerer said, no one can predict the future. Many cancer survivors finish their treatment and go on to live healthy lives without their cancer returning, and, unfortunately, many do have their cancer return. The risk of relapse depends on things like the type of treatment, including how much chemotherapy and/or radiation the patient received, even family history. I am a 13-year kidney cancer survivor, and I'm just answering this question based on what I've been told over the years. However, you should really address this with your oncologist!
No one can predict the future, but your doctor should have discussed the possibility with you when you had your kidney removed and that is who your questions should be directed to.
You are not providing any information here to base an opinion and your doctor has all the information to answer your questions.
I am a cancer registrar.
