How can you tell if you possibly have breast cancer?!
Question: How can you tell if you possibly have breast cancer?
Answers:
Breast cancer is not generally sore, it sounds like (especially due to the location) that this might be a swollen lymph node (they can get hard, and rubbery to the touch, and sore)...or, this could be a fibroid cyst which are very sore and painful (usually triggered by too much caffeine in your diet) but the only way to know for sure is to get a mammogram. Early detection is ALWAYS the key in ANY cancer-related scare. So I have to suggest that you get to the doctor immediately. If breast cancer runs in your family, then you are at a higher risk...especially if it runs on your mom's side (mom, aunts, grandmother, etc.). Try not to fear the unknown. Just be smart and play it on the safe side by seeing your doctor immediately. Best wishes! :0)
Age matters very much indeed.
At 18, your risk of being struck by lightning is more than twice as high as your risk of breast cancer. The chances are less than one in one million.
Most breast lumps, even in women old enough for breast cancer, aren't cancerous - 80% of breast lumps considered suspicious enough for biopsy are found to be benign.
Pain and tenderness are very rarely signs of brest cancer - most people diagnosed with breast cancer have felt no pain at all. When there is pain, it is because the cancer is advanced - in the extremely unlikely event of an 18 year old having breast cancer, it wouldn't have had time to become advanced.
If you're concerned, see your doctor. But remember that the odds are overwhelmingly in your favour.
have had breast cancer, and was classed as a 'younger woman' - because I was only 50, which is still quite young for breast cancer
At 18 yrs of age your chances of breast cancer are less than 5%.
Breast Cancer is not normally painful. What you may have is a cyst they can be painful especially near period time when they act up the most and reside and become smaller when period is over
I would suggest you go see a doctor to confirm you don't have breast cancer.

At 18, your chances of having breast cancer are very slim. But, when any lump is found, it would be prudent to see your family doctor, let him determine whether anything is worrisome and then he can continue to monitor it during regular check-ups.
