When i work out..............?!


Question: i like waking up early and working out at ballys total fitness. so sometimes when i run on the treadmill i feel like im outof energy and my food is still sort of digesting in my stomach. is it a way i can stop this or just eat light before i workout or maybe just drink a gateorade

don't drink a sports drink before working out. Water is the only thing to eat or drink within an hour of working out. You'll get cramps and feel bloated if you eat or drink anything else. Hope I helped

when u work out without eating in the morning, your carb levels in your blood are massively depleted (since you haven't had any since the last time you ate). Your body starts looking for energy sources, and will begin to go to the fat stores.

Doing cardio in the morning in a fasted state is supposed to get you a extra training effect because of that... the fat stores are utilized and burned quicker since there isn't a carb source to use up first. (usually it is at a 50/50 split at the 20 min mark... buring 50% cals from carbs, 50% from fat... and the ratio goes more to the fat as the cardio time increases... to when at an hour its almost a 20/80 carb fat ratio.

But it is hard to get through a workout and cardio on an empty stomach. If you find yourself feeling out of energy, get a small amount of carbs in your system before you hit the gym... and make sure its the good carbs.

Is is possible for you to eat afterwards and just stay hydrated during the work out? You could also try doing a different activity and save the running for last. That way you will give your stomach time to digest.
