Cultivating better habits is really a choice. To paraphrase Yoda, "There is do, or not do. There is no try." Discipline & self motivation are learned behaviors. We're not born with those virtues. It takes practice. One of the things that motivates me is that I really like the RESULTS, so that makes me more willing to put in the extra time and effort.

Since you like that the yoga makes you feel great, use that as a motivator. So your 'practice" might include posting a sign on your door or mirror that says "Yoga first, couch second. I like feeling great with the Yoga!" until it is part of your daily routine. Feeling great is the reward, not sitting on the couch.

Savor the reward!

The motivation comes from inside you. Simple but hard. You have to want to make the change--and it sounds like you do or you wouldn't be asking for help.

Pick some other activity you like to do instead of the yoga to get you off the couch or computer. You should be alternating the kind of exercise you do anyway so walking instead of yoga would be a good motivator to get you going.

It comes from deciding what is really important and doing it. If you can't do the yoga then it just isn't that important to you and you only think you want to do it. Obviously, sitting on your cozy sofa is important to you and that is why you do it.

Be happy with being lazy.

this one is tough because YOU need to have the will power to do what you need to do...if you need to...unplug all the cords and such to the computer to where it takes time to just put it together...do something to where it's a task to do what you always do.

You have to decide what you want and set the goals for yourself. No one else can do that for you. Get a timer that will ding and allow yourself just so much time. I know I would go into withdrawal if someone took away my computer.

I have the same type of problem - I've actually resorted to taking my modem to work with me and leaving it in the locker for 2-3 days!
