Need to stay in shape?!?...info below??!
Question: im not overweight or anything, but i'm a 13 year old boy and i eat a lot, primarily carbs. im italian so alls we get is all this pasta, bread, cereal, potatos and more carbs. so basically you can say that i am addicted to carbs. i really dont eat a lot of meat (i'm not a vegetarian though), but i need to change my eating habits. i know it's the best to keep protein in your diet. any other proteined foods you can give me besides meat? i mean i like chicken and stuff but not like a lot of cow meat. mainly poultry. bottom line, how do i change my eating habits?? what kind of diets are out there now (besides the adkins diet with all the meat) that would be best for what i like to eat?? i dont want to get overweight!
**also, as a teenage boy, i eat a TON, but never seem to get full. my mom says it's because i eat too much carbs, and not enough protein; she says protein keeps you full longer. is this true??? answers are appreciated!

peanutbutter has protein so if you're not allergic and like it, a pb&j is never a bad choice as a snack.....just keep eating and stay active..at your age you don't really need to worry about weight and stuff, just having a healthy lifestyle....since you're only 13 you are probably still growing and therefore need to eat a lot....and dont worry about having too many carbs..i know there are a lot of diets that limit carbs, but if you are active you need the carbs for energy
