Could I have burned 270 calories swimming?!
Question: I am a bit in Denial because I wasnt swimming laps and I always thought thats the only way you can burn calories in a pool. But... I was also running in the pool, waterflips, making some of my own strokes and diving in and more...
So even know I wasnt doing laps is it possible I could've burned 270 calories?

Unless you were doing that for 5 hours non stop, I really don't think so. Swimming laps back and forth for 1 1/2 hours would equal about 270 calories.
It's definitely possible to burn 270 calories in a pool without swimming laps. Calories are burned during practically everything you do - you're burning some right now by sitting upright at your computer (you'd be burning less if you were laying down, actually)! Running water is a great exercise because of the resistance it provides and the reduced stress on your joints.
Exercise doesn't have to be boring. Just get up, move around, and have fun!
