I'm 12, 5'4, and I weigh 170 lbs. Am I fat?!


Question: I love to eat. I eat a lot. I'm not on any sports teams. But I go swimming about once a month for about 30 minutes at a time. Am I fat?

i say become more active, if u cant go swimming everyday, join a soccer team or track or something that keeps you active almost everyday of the week, also lead a healthy diet. You are overweight for your age, but that doesn't mean you cant fix that. Good luck !!

TRY SWIMING EVERY DAY 30 MIN YOU SHOULD BE AROUND 125-130 TOPS

A little overweight but I wouldn't worry too much about it. Maybe you'll grow a few more inches since you're about to become a teenager and it won't be that bad. As long as you're happy, you shouldn't worry about what others think.

Because you're extremely overweight....and you shouldn't need anyone on here to tell you that.
You're definitely too young to go on a diet, but you really should try to make healthier choices. Also, make sure you play at least one sport every season!! 30mins of exercise once a month doesn't cut it!

You are overweight for you age and height (anywhere from about 90-130 is considered healthy). Swimming 30 mins is great - make it 3-5 times a week instead of once a month (or any other exercise). Get your parents to buy healthier food and control serving portions. You don't have to join sports, but you do need to increase your amount of exercise and get your diet under control. Good luck.

wellllllllllllll, you should go swimming and exersise way more then once a month. You're not fat but probably overweight, but i dont mean to be mean. JUst exersice about 3 times a week and you should be good.

No offence but u could be a little helthier. i dont think that 30 minutes of exersize a month isn't nearly enough. my gym teacher said that u need 60 minutes of exersize every day! I'm about ur age (a little older and same hight) and i weigh 90 punds. mabye you could ask your doctor about things that you could do to controll your weight without overeating or going on a serious diet.

no you are not realy over weight.you just do push ups once in 2 days.it makes me fit.it will suit you too.when i hear from me you next time you must be happy and fit.

I dont think your necessarily fat but your over your target weight goal.. it's gppd that you love to eat just eat moderately and get at least 30 mins of excercise 4 times a week. as long as your healthy and happy with yourself that's all that matters. plus remember your a growing child and thats just the way you are now. Growing up I was always a littlechubby but once I got to like 18 i just grew out of it. Now im 22 and just had a baby 3 months ago and weigh 115 and im 5'6! its crazy just b healthy and good to yourr body

if you don't lose weight you can end up with diabites and high blood pressure. Hell yeah 170 lbs is way too much for a 12 year old. Don't eat junk food and exersise.

you are very FAT! when i was 12 i weighed like 80 lbs. i'm 18, 5'8 and i weigh 112. so yeah you're like obese, this is unhealthy.

this person is obviously a troll. In the exact same section 2 hours ago she/he claimed to be 217 pounds. Unless that person cut of his own limbs, (which i hope he did) that is impossible.
