What's the best way to lose my luv handles?!

Question: 'Luv handles' appear at the lower edge of your 'oblique' abdominal muscles.

If these muscles aren't strong, any fat there will be able to flop about, and 'bunch up' at the waistband of your trousers. You probably have less fat there than you think, because soft muscle tissue can be just as 'floppy' as bodyfat.

Love handles can be very persistent, because the 'standard' kind of abdominal exercises (situps and crunches) can't activate the lower margin of the oblique muscles. Twisting versions of these exercises can work the obliques a little bit, but not very effectively.

You need to do activities that involve a lot of hip-rolling and waist-twisting. Salsa Dancing, Bellydance, Walking like Mae West ('sashay') and Capoeira, all use the waist in a 'wiggly' way that will fully activate your obliques.

These activities will increase the 'resting tone' of the muscle under your love handle area, and these tighter muscles will 'pinch' your waist in, as well as supporting the adipose ('fat storage') layer that covers them.

Some of the powerful waist movements that are used in Martial Arts will build size and strength in these muscles, and this will help by stretching out the fatty tissue more smoothly, so that it doesn't bulge or flop so much.

I really struggled with mine, while i managed to lose weight and tone my stomach the stubborn buggers stayed there. But recently I've been going to use toning tables and as they work individual areas u can focus on the areas that bother u most (ie love handles). I've really noticed a difference:)
