Yoga and health?!
Question: Its not weight I want to lose because that's merely a number, but I want to become more toned. I want my body to be the size it should be nothing more nothing less. I have back problems including a rod in the lumbar region, therefor I cant do too much high impact working out. I LOVE yoga. I used to do it but got out of it. The past month I have gotten more involved in it again, and my flexibility and strength are coming back. With a mixture of walking 1-2 miles a day and hitting up the occassional elliptical runner... when would you say physical results will begin to show?
(Emotional/mental ones are definitly brinking. I feel great.) I want to look as good as I feel :).
P.S. I am a vegetarian with fairly healthy eating habits.

I've just started yoga (Iyengar yoga) and I think the benefits show fairly quickly. I work out every day and am very active all day, but doing yoga has made an immediate improvement - targets muscles that I didn't even know I have! Your schedule sounds terrific and I think you'll see results really quickly if you keep it up, especially as you're doing some great cardio (walking and using the elliptical....I love my elliptical...they're a god-send!).
After just a few weeks of yoga my abdominal muscles have gotten so firm....(even with years of strength training, intense cardio, crunches and core-strength activities...yoga did the trick!) - I hope your results come quickly as well....but the main thing is that you enjoy it - congratulations on feeling great!
