Weightlifting Soreness?!

Question: I just started working out two or three weeks ago. I go to the gym 5 or 6 times a week and i always do mainly all the machines. I do 3 sets of 10 reps. But i am never sore the day after. Why is this? My muscles are burning while I am lifting, and it feels like i cannot do more. Are you even supposed to be sore the day after? If you are supposed to, why am i not getting sore? Oh, and I am sort of fat, and i do cardio also.
help please

I am not sure except to say that you are not lifting as heavy as you need to and doing as many reps. You need to do at least 15 reps....wait about 2 minutes and do 15 more....continue at least 3 times for each machine...you will see results and get sore.

It means you are not going hard enough. Up the reps or up the weight. The system adapts to increased stress, so stress your system more and you will increase the myofibril tears, leading to increased hypertrophy.
