I splurged on 4 slices of pizza -- nutritionally how bad is that?!

Question: i'm usually not calorie-counting-crazy but i have to ask a few questions about pizza... i don't even like pizza but i had some when i was sick a few months ago and ever since then i've liked it more...all together the calories added up to 840 -- i usually have really small meals (probably 1000 calories in a whole day maybe less).. okay here's my questions:

how often can someone (who is usually nutrition conscious) eat pizza (per month)?
i had 4 slices tonight (and although that was not my plan i had 4 slices last time i had pizza 2 weeks ago), they had olives, peppers, and mushrooms on them -- those toppings are better than sausage and pepperoni right?

i work out and do not think i'm in imminent danger of gaining 80 pounds and my cholesterol is probably safe for now...
this is just me being being paranoid/silly right?

I'm very health conscious too...although I allow myself to splurge one day a week. My husband and I go out every Friday night and have whatever we want to eat. It's ok to have those things in moderation. Don't beat yourself up...just remember, one day a week allow yourself to enjoy! :)

less bad than 5 slices, but more bad than 3.

PIZZA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YUM...

4 slices of pizza are no big deal, assuming you don't do it every day.

What you eat in a day is not important to your health. What you eat in a month is far more important.

eat and be merry

one cheese pizza slice is 400, so about 1800 with ur topping

Yeah sounds fine to me no big deal as long as it doesn't become a habit.

well as long as you eat an even number of slices they cancel each other out.

1000 calories a day is a starvation diet. I don't think you are adding up your calories correctly, or if you are, you're biggest worry isn't eating pizza.

Eating bad foods and dieting are long term events. Nothing bad occurs by eating or treating yourself to things which might have a high calorie count occasionally.

You'll be fine. Really. Especially if you exercise regularly.

When I was a Marine, I lived on pizza and hot dogs, but was as solid as a rock.

You should be more worried about eating 1000 calories or less in a day than eating some pizza every now and then. Your body needs around 1200 calories to stay out of "starvation mode" where your metabolism slows down. If you do want to eat pizza once a month or so, get it without any meats, or you can make your own pizza with a whole wheat crust.

The killer in a pizza is not so much the olives and vegies, but the dough and cheese. The dough a high content of carbohydrates and cheese contains a high level of fat, about 20% of it.

Everything is ok to have, but only in moderation. If you have a lot of pizza one week maybe dont have it the next, settle on vegetables or something else.
Aslong as you dont eat pizza more than 4 times PER WEEK you should be pretty healthy but everybodies, bodies are different so what ever makes you feel healthy and great!

oh god.... shut up already (not to be mean or anything) but you are wayyyy to concious. you just have to live and enjoy life (by actualy eating food sometimes) and dont worry about every little thing. it sounds like your more in danger of becoming anorexic than gaining weight.

It's fine to have pizza every now and then, if you know in advance that you're going to have pizza, don't it a lot throughout the day, so that you can eat the pizza.

The fact that pizza is made out of dough and cheese makes it not healthy, it's very greasy and fattening, but ohh so delicious. Don't fool yourself into thinking that healthy toppings make the pizza healthy.

Just keep on a healthy diet, exercise, have your pizza once a month. Just keep in mind that you'll have to work extra hard to burn the calories from the pizza.

you're fine, you're allowed to treat yourself once in a while. just get back on track, everybody splurges.

well, since you have so little calories in a day, your prolly gonna gain alot more then you think, but with your diet right now, you'll be fine losing it in no time. I would try maybe eating 1500 a day? it makes your metabolism faster, and wen you do eat like that, you don't have to worry bout it as much. :]

that's so cute..
your probably OK,you don't do it all the time and you work out.
just add some extra crunches and try to burn more fat the next day.
its very fatty, but very good to your taste buds ....
the bread ,cheese and salt is the worst
but if its a deluxe you cover all your food groups in one meal.
so unless you do this a lot, eat a whole medium pizza and don't work out then you may have something to worry about.
Cholesterol is very funny my dad is 75 and hes been eating the fat from any eatable animal, uses grease on everything(ugh) and his is normal ,i know i was surprised to.
as long as you don't have family with high blood pressure or high cholesterol and your still young, your kool for now.
you can always have your doctor run a cholesterol test on your check ups to be safe its just a slice on your finger.

it is bad you gain like 5 pounds i think
