Abandoning regular cardio for all water workouts?!

Question: I'm absolutely loving my new swimming lessons at the YMCA. I want to take the Water Fitness Challenge & Water Fitness Workout classes instead of the cardio workout I had been doing; walking on a treadmill, stationary bike etc

Is this a good idea? I have been pretty sedentary since last summer... Can I achieve the same results with all water fitness?

It's awsome that you are enjoying your new cardio routine! This will help you stick with your program, so you will def. achieve your goals!

I think that you should still walk on the treadmill and ride the stationary bike at least once a week. Different machines work different muscles, plus it will avoid boredom.

In all reality, any type of exercise is better than a sedentary lifestyle, so just keep doing whatever makes you happy :)

I would still do your regular cardio sometimes, because it's always better to mix it up, and not get into too much of a comfort zone.

Sure....go ahead. Cardio is cardio. Doesn't matter if you are jogging, biking, doing the StairMaster, or swimming. I'm a big believer in LIKING what you are doing regarding cardio. So enjoy your new form of cardio, guilt free!
