Question: Teen female meal plan. Help please. Best answer, 10 points!!!!?
Hi, can you please help me.
I am a 17 year old teenager and I need help creating a healthy meal plan for myself. I have IBS and its SERIOUS. My GI doctor told me to go on a low carb diet, and I need help. I get good exercise, and I dance at school. I do not eat red meat, but I eat chicken and fish. Could you please give me a few days worth of meal plans?

Best answer gets 10 points. Please help.

I hate eggs and get gas when I eat them.

Low carb meal plans that are healthy are preferable please.

Can I have like a full days menus for several days please.

I eat alot of salads. You can vary what you put in them so much! you can sautee veggies in olive oil with spices of your choice, also chicken or fish (i like salmon) are great added to it also. I unfortunatly am not much of a breakfast eater so I can't help much there, but oatmeal might be good with fruit in it?

I have it too.
I can't give you meal plans, but I can recommend a few things. When things get worse, I eat cereal, and white foods. Idk but it seems to help. Like crackers, and such.

it's important to have complex carbs with fiber. carbs - fiber = total carbs counted. glycemic index is your friend.

am - oatmeal, non-irritating fruit such as apple, banana, grapefruit if you like it... i mix my oatmeal with protein powder but that might not be a great idea gas-wise for you.

am snack - nuts or triscuits with peanut butter

lunch - tuna on a pita, or chicken salad sandwich, or soup. (depends on what you would be able to bring with you or find at school)

pm snack - fruit - i eat an orange or plum.

dinner - whole wheat pasta - small portion, broiled chicken or have it prepared some other way you like.. don't skimp on seasonings that won't upset your tummy and it won't be so boring.. , or maybe whole wheat pita with some veggie meat or ground chicken, cheese, tomato, maybe reduced fat sour cream - taco night!

i don't know, i'm hypo-glycemic so i really need my snacks.. they're super important to keep me on track.. also, i don't have IBS but at one point was told i did.. haven't had any problems since i really started paying attention to what my body was telling me.

good luck!!! :-)
