some form of deli meat on whole wheat bread. mayo, mustard are usually good on the sandwich. some form of juice, try not to have milk or dairy b/c it doesn't mix well with running but you might get away with it if its 3h before practice. fruit is also good. another thing worth trying is eating some form of power bar 1 HOUR BEFORE you have track so you have the energy for running and drinking lots of water starting 24h before track meets.
P.S. peanut butter and jelly sandwiches arnt really the best thing. use honey instead of jelly b/c jelly has a lot of sugar and will tire you out very fast. also you can add bananas to the peanut butter honey sandwich to make it even better plus its really good
ham, turkey, or roast beef sandwich (cheese/mustard optional)
granola bar (any non-surgary kind)
milk
fruit (apple orange or bananna)
Here are a few suggestions:
Salad with grilled chicken
Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich on wheat bread
Turkey Sandwich and an apple
Yogurt with fruit
Soup and green salad
Good for you.
Just about any kind of sandwich on whole wheat, an apple, and some carrot sticks is a healthy, inexpensive lunch. Throw in some milk and you'll have just about covered all the bases.
A bag of Fritos or NutriGran chips would be ok.
Good Luck.
