Cardio vs. weight lifting?!

Question: is it true that if you want to burn calories that weight lifting is better?

Answers: is it true that if you want to burn calories that weight lifting is better?

Yes, weights are by far better.
After a cardio workout your body's metabolism will increase for approximately 30 - 60 minutes after, depending on the intensity.
After a well rounded weight workout (hitting all the major muscle groups at lest once to fatigue) your metabolism will increase for 6 -8 hours after, meaning you are still burning calories.
Also, if you move through a weight workout without a lot of rest between sets, your heart rate will remain elevated providing you with a great cardio workout.
Cardio does not do as much to build muscle as weights. The more muscle your body is made of, the more calorie efficient your body will be (able to burn more calories at rest).

hell no....cardio is WAY better if you want to burn calories...but cardio causes muscle loss a lil too...so it's good to do both and even things out

After a weight lifting session your body will continue to use energy for muscle repair, whereas it has to be an extremely hard cardio session for this to happen. Weight lifting will also increase your resting metabolic rate which means your body will use up more calories during a day. However, neither form of exercise can be said to be better since they are both working different energy systems.
