I haven't eaten very healthy for a few years, is it too late to change?!

Question: I haven't eaten very healthy for a few years, is it too late to change!?
I'm 25!. I'd like to know if I can still change my ways or is it too late!. I've eaten junk food on a constant basis since I was 18!. Its catching up with me because my doctor says I have a little bit of anemia right now!. I think right now would be the perfect time to change all of that, but a part of me is scared that it might all be too late!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
It's not too late, you are young!. Anemia is easily treatable!. Start eating healthy, you will feel better, your anemia will get better, and you will have more energy!. If you don't know what to eat, ask your doctor to send you to a nutritionist!. Many insurances cover it!. They can help you plan a diet!. I went to a nutritionist to help me lose weight, and she really helped me plan a healthy diet still including stuff I love to eat!. It really helped me change my high school and college eating habits!. Or buy a "light" cookbook!. You will be surprised at how delicious some of these recipes are, you can not even tell they are healthy!. You should not have to sacrifice taste when eating healthy!. These might be some good ways to get you started with healthy eating if you are having trouble!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, it's never too late to make a change to better your life!. You probably find the foods you've been eating quite comforting!. So not only have they been somewhat nourishing you, they have been also somewhat nurturing you!. If you decide to start making healthy food choices, first do some research!. Educate yourself about what foods are healthy, and what foods are not (look it up on the internet, or talk to a nutritionist)!. Once you are educated about healthy foods, make a list, and choose foods from that list that you would like to eat!. Then set a date to start eating healthy!. Remember it takes 21 days to make something a habit, so keep at it!. Also, allow yourself to occasionally have the old foods you like, like a cheeseburger or a chocolate chip cookie just because they taste so good!. You can do it!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Of course it isn't too late!. It is never too late to improve yourself!.

What are your plans for change!? Are you giving up soft drink!? Fats!? Sugar!?

You should make a plan based on the food pyramid!. You can look this up on line!. Also you can go to realage!.com!. On this site you can take a quiz which will identify what you are doing wrong and right and give suggestions and recommendations for you to improve you total health, not just your eating habits!.

Good for you for realizing that eating is an important part of good health and wanting to change to a healthier lifestyle!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I feel a song coming on by a certain band of the name "Three Days Grace!.!.!.!.!."
Though i shan't sing it!.

:D

Just take it slow, try swapping 1 junk food to 1 healthier option!. Then keep upping it till your happy that you have a balance!.
There's no harm in eating junk food, as long as you eat the right stuff too, i shold know, being a teen i consantly eat rubbish, but i'm slowly easing off the crisps and what not!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can and should change the way you eat now !.!.!. you are still very young, and while it may be difficult to learn what's healthy and what's not healthy now, it will get harder and harder the older you get !.!.!. by changing now, you may save yourself from things like heart attacks, strokes, osteoporosis, and even Alzheimer's !.!.!. so do a search and start learning what is truly healthy NOW and you'll be much healthier in the future!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Not at all!. But I think the trick is to do it gradually!. You don't want to do a drastic change all at one, or you won't stick with it, and you'll just give up!.

Smart substitutions also help (like replacing white flour with whole wheat; or yogurt for mayonnaise)!.

Also, just mix it up!. Eating salad all the time is boring and I could never eat salad 24/7!. Get a good cookbook or two with some nice healthy recipes to ensure variety in your diet!. Use this opportunity to learn about foods and what's best for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's never too late!. You're still young enough where you're body has not begun to slow down its metabolism for the long haul (at least not until you touch around 30 years of age)!. There are plenty of things you can do!. Start by doing this to calculate your daily caloric needs:

http://www!.caloriesperhour!.com/index_bur!.!.!.

Enter your information in, then it'll give you some numbers!. Never eat less than your BMR in any given day!. Take a look at the multipliers to figure out where your range is (I suggest eatinga couple hundred more calories than your BMR to lose weight)!.

Next is the exercising!. Start small!. 20-30 minutes a day, 3 days a week of using the elliptical/bike!. It'll take a couple of weeks to start seeing results!.!.!. so don't get too down!. From there on, once you feel ready, you can start adding weight training into the mix which will pump up your metabolism and it'll make you look more defined (no, if you're female, you won't bulk up)!.

Start small to get to your goals!.!.!. never try and lose more than 1-2 lbs!. per week so it STAYS off!. (I recently lost 25 lbs in 4 months, this is a good guidline)!.

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
