Question: Howw do i speed up my metabolism!?
i try to eat healthy but i have a slow metabolism n thts y im overweight!.!.please help!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

firstly if you havent already, i would go to the doctor to ensure than it is your metabolism that is the problem and not your thiroid!. if you are eating as well as you say, then it could be either one!. your thiroid regulates your bodies metabolism and if it is underactive it can mean that it slows down the metabolism!. if this is the case, the doctor will give you medication that will sort this problem out!.
if you have already been to the doctor and ruled this out, then a few simple things can help your metabolism to work better!.!.

1) drink 2 litres of water at ROOM temp a day!. cold water slows the metabolism!.
2) stay off all fizzy drinks!.
3) drink a glass of water half hour before every meal!. half the time we feel hungry it is just thirst!. this will ensure that when you eat, you are not eating more than nessessary!.
4) eat little but often, and never skip meals!. doing so does not make you lose weight!. your body absorbs more when you do eventually eat is doesnt know when you will next eat!. plus keeping your metabolism in constant working order makes it work better, burn quicker and speeds it up!.
5) cut out dairy products, which are harsh on the metabolism!. drink soya milk, which is much lighter and the body digests it much easier!.
6)dont buy yout "treats" to take home!. its too tempting!. keep it for when you eat out!. helps to stop temptations!.

To increase your metabolism, there is no actual food that can help, though it had been stated that spicy food improves it a little, but too little to be signifcant!. The first key to metabolism is exercise, muscular exercise!. Increasing your muscle tissues means increasing your metabolism, that's why bodybuilders need huge amounts of food daily and they dont get any fat!. The second thing you can do to speed up your metabolism is to eat frequently but small amounts of food, so as not to get more calories than you need and trick your body to continuously burn fat!.
