Does anyone know what will pump up your metabolism?!


Question:

Does anyone know what will pump up your metabolism?

My husband got his thyroids removed and was then prescribed some pills that supposed to replace his thyroid and speed up his metabolism. I am so tempted to take them so I can lose weight. Anyone have a better idea?

No quick fix. Diet and exercise in the best way.
Eat about 4 to 5 smaller meals throughout the day is best rather than the 2 or three big meals. This way your body is always working for you and you tend to have more energy throughout the day because your body has constant fuel to keep it going and in turn you will burn more calories. Also, you are not giving yourself time to get really hungry and then binge eat. DO NOT SKIP BREAKFAST! This was a big one for me too, I do not like eating in the morning. If this is a challenge for you start with a little juice just to jump start your taste buds, but make breakfast your biggest meal. Do not cut out your carbs either, you need to balance your carbs and protein. Do eat most of your carbs earlier in the day.
What is your ideal weight? eg. if it's 130lbs, multiply it by 10 to get to how many calories you need to consume per day
Water! Most people do not drink enough. Take your body weight in pounds, divide it by two and this is how many ounces you need a day. When drinking enough water throughout the day, always keep a bottle with you, you tend to eat less.
Start a simple exercise routine, just walking, something that you will stick to and then incorporate something more strenuous. The main goal here is to create a healthier lifestyle and NOT DIET!
It's the only way that you will keep it off.
I lost 50 lbs in 5 months doing this and I've kept it off for 6 years now.
