How good is my muscle building routine?!


Question:

How good is my muscle building routine?

i tried to work every major muscle in my body. I created this based on what i could do at home. cardio every day.

(Monday, Thursday)
Flat bench presses 2x8
bent over rows 2x8
dumbbell shrugs 2x8
dumbbell military press 2x8
fly’s 2x8
biceps curls 2x8
good mornings (lower back) 2x8
forearms 2x8

Wednesday-rest

(Tuesday and Friday)
standing calf raises 3x8
leg extensions 3x8
squats 3x8
lunges 3x8
crunches (weighted) 3x8
crunches 1x 100
leg raises 1x100
(weighted leg raises) 3x8
side bends (for obliques) 3x8

weekend-rest

Additional Details

The monday's and thursday should all be 3x8 also.

i weight my abs by holding a plate under my head or cushioned on my chest.

I use the 100's set for toning.......dur


Answers:

The crunches and leg raises are totally useless doing it in that fashion. Your not going to get better abs simply by doing numerous amount of crunches and chances with that high of a number your not doing a full slow controlled rep should take 3-5 seconds. I'd go with 4 reps of 25 with each exercises targetting a specific area, upper abs, right side obliques, left side obliques, and lower abs. How do you weight your leg raises? Like clutching a medicine ball with your feet?

I also do not see any exercises that specifically target your triceps either.

Your going to need to change that routine in 2 weeks or your going to plateau.

Lol there's no such thing as "toning" your muscles. Toning is simply the state of your relaxed muscles. Therefore it's not something you actively do. Doing more reps just builds endurance it doesn't make your muscles anymore defined or firmer. Lol don't "dur" me unless you know what your talking about bud.
