What is the maximum amount of weight training a week to tone along with cardio 6!
Question:
What is the maximum amount of weight training a week to tone along with cardio 6 days a week?
I do cardio training 5 or 6 days a week for overall fat loss, but Im also trying to tone my body meanwhile. Currently Im weight training every day along with 2 split cardio sessions, but I am wondering if that is hindering my process instead of helping it.
So what is the Ideal amount of weight training I should incorporate into my routine, how long, how often, in order to tone and help lose 40 pounds before Christmas?
Serious answers only please. Thanks

I am a personal trainer. The way to weight and fat loss is not in exercise alone. It is also very important to look at diet, or you won't lose weight.
On the same note, over-exercising can make you hungrier, which will make you eat more, therefore not helping you.
You should only weight train 2-3 times a week, every other day should suffice if it is a serious workout. Cardio training should be split as well, perhaps two days run, one day walk.
As for diet, the average person eats about 3000 calories a day... subtracting 500 each day and eating only 2500 ALONE will make you lose 1 pound a week, combined with proper exercise you can add to the loss.
You should not strive to lose more then 4-5 pounds a week, it can be unhealthy for the body to lose more that rapidly.
