Answers:
Most movements occur when several skeletal muscles act in groups, as opposed to individually!.

Most skeletal muscles are arranged at joints, in opposing pairs!.

The muscle that causes an action is referred to as the prime mover or agonist (= leader)!. Often another muscle, called the antagonist (ant = against), relaxes while the prime mover contracts!.

For example, during a bicep curl, the bicep would contract while the tricep relaxes!. In this example, the bicep is the prime mover!.

During a shoulder shrug, upper part of the Trapezius muscle is the prime mover with the rhomboid and levator scapulae muscles being used as well!.

During a squat, most muscles in the body are being used, but the prime mover muscle is the quadricep!. It slowly relaxes allowing the body to go into a squat, and then contracts to bring the body upright again!. The hamstrings, hip flexors and glutes assist in the balance and stablising of the movement!.

Leg press is essentially the same movement as the squat, with less emphasis on balance and stabilising!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
