Can having excess gas give you nausea?!

Question:

Can having excess gas give you nausea?

I've been experiencing extreme gas in my stomach (which results in lots of burping--I know, gross) and I don't know what's causing it. I've been depressed for the past couple of months (this is when the gas pretty much started) and not working too much nowadays. I stay at home and feel worse and therefore have become more sedentary in my ways. I'm not active at all anymore and I believe this to have something to do with the gas that's accumulating in my stomach. Furthermore, I feel nauseated all day long. I HATE FEELING THIS WAY!

Do you think excercise will help? Is there a prescription medication that's available that helps with excess gas. I've tried GAS-X, but it does nothing for me. I do drink soda occasionally and always have (it never caused problems before), so I'm assuming it's because of my inactivity. Anyone know how to get rid of the nausea, too? It's driving me crazy!

Thanks.

Answers:

I used to have this a lot. Dr. told me to take Maalox before each meal, it didn't work. I missed a lot of work due to bloating, nausea, abdominal pain etc. It got to where I couldn't even walk without a lot of abd. pain. I was prescribed lots of things. I was in so much pain one night I had to go to the emergency room. I was finally prescribed Nexium. I've never had this problem again. Ask your Dr. to give you samples to see if it will work for you. If it helps stay on it. I do.
