If I fry something in a frying pan with 0calorie butter spray, am I making the f!
Question:
If I fry something in a frying pan with 0calorie butter spray, am I making the food less healthy by doing so?
I was jsut wondering if the act of "frying" food like chicken for example, is what makes fried chicken more calories and fat, or if it is the fact that people usually use oil when doing so. basically, If I cook a chicken breast or egg whites in a frying pan with 0 cal butter spray is that going to make them more calories or give them more fat than if i microwaved them? thanks!
Answers:
It's only zero calories if you spray the pan for less than a second (actually 1/2 second adds 7 calories). If you are using more than that (and if you are frying something then I'm sure you are) yes, you are adding extra calories to your food.
