2 Questions! 1) What does Kcal mean? 2) Sugar, fat, calorie content?

1) What does Kcal mean?

2) When on a diet, should you be wary of the sugar content, fat content or calorie content in foods? Which element, if cut down, will help you most when on a diet?

Thank you

Answers:

Kcal (Kilo Calorie) = Calorie instead of calorie. Kcal is 1000 calories (and it is the unit used on food products). All food is eventually broken down into glucose where it is used or stored, it is stored as fat. Carbohydrates are simpler than proteins and can be turned into energy faster, that is why alot of people believe it is good to "Carb up" before athletic events (for various reasons this is not a good idea). Proteins are better for those who are attempting to build muscle. When I first changed my diet, I replaced 2-3 regular eggs with 1 regular and 6 table spoons of egg whites. I avoid things like bagles and bread ALL DAY (ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT) because they will turn strait into fat if they aren't used. So like the atkins diet you should replace most of your intake with protein's, however you should eat beans and brown rice everonce in awhile. Dieting alone is not good enough if your trying to loose weight and look good (and feel good to). YOU simply MUST have vigorous cardio-vascular (heart) exercise everyday, this will accelerate your weight loss (especially if your running) and will make you look trimmer.
Excersise recomendations:
Running
Swimming
Rowing (bulk you up more though)
Biking (15 miles a day at least).
