How can a 12 year old loose weight?

i am 12 years old and i weigh 118 pounds, i am also 5 ft 1, i feel like ive got fat on my thighs and around my butt, how could i loose some weight around that part of my body?

I don't think that sounds that overweight, in fact it is pretty much normal for a 12 year old female...however, check your BMI using the link below to get a better answer...

one thing that helps keep us at a healthy weight is eating healthy so if you feel you are gaining too much weight, try eating more fruits and veggies and less junk food and candy..have 3 meals and 2 snacks a day and maybe 1 junk food/candy type a week instead of daily...also cut soda out of your diet and instead drink water (if you want it flavored, squeeze some lime or lemon into it)

Now, for toning up, that is something anyone can do and here are some suggestions:
biking helps tone up thighs
swimming
running/jogging (also try running/jogging up and down bleachers)
lunges
playing sports (like volleyball, etc)
dancing and/or dance aerobics is great fun to do with friends
