My sister is getting surgeory on her stomach.....kinda like lapband but more intense!!?
umm i'm worried because i haven't talked to her in 2 days and i'm out of the country!! I forgot what it's called but it's kinda new! She said she was getting it scheduelled today but she's 230 pounds and will she be okay???

It must be gastric by-pass, and alot of it depends on her surgeon. I would only look at gastric by-pass as a last result. Everyone that I have ever known that had this surgery had very severe complications. My brother had this surgery about 5 years ago and they can not get his stomach to stop bleeding internally. He has to drink this awful charcoal stuff. He can barely stomach to eat, though he has lost a tremendous amount of weight.When he eats anything he starts to sweat and has to go outside and walk the nausea off. He now tells me that he is starting to gain a few pounds. All I know is that the foods that he once loved, now make him sick to even be around. He really is having a awful time with this.
If I were you I would stay in constant contact with your family or your sister's family. This is a very hard surgery to recover from.
