I'm 5'5" and weigh 111 lbs... is that overweight?!

Question:

I'm 5'5" and weigh 111 lbs... is that overweight?

I'm 13 and I weigh 111, and I'm 5'5".
I'm not FAT, but I'm curious to weather or not I'm overweight, because I do have some extra tummy fat.

any ideas on how to lose it?

Answers:

Depending on what website you go to, it will say either a minimum Body Mass Index (BMI) of 18 or a minimum of 20 is healthy.

BMI is just a measure of your weight in proportion to your height, because obviously if you're taller you should weigh more than someone who is very short.

Your BMI is 18.5, which I consider healthy. You never want to be below 18, you will risk damaging your bones and hormones for life.

You don't need to lose weight, your "tummy fat" can be replaced by muscle through some running (join a sport when you go into high school) and weight training. You will gain weight (muscle weighs more than fat), but you will actually wear a smaller size.

Good luck and stay healthy!
