Is there a recommended daily allowance for purified water? Is 3L pushing it, or could one go further?

I'm just trying to supplement my health, since I'm a fitness instructor/bodybuilder in-training, and I've heard tidbits about how healthy a daily chugging of water can be. Is this true, and how?
For the moment, I've filled up a 3-litre Deer Park bottle with purified water and plan to drink a full container every day. Is this pushing it? Or, could I push it more?
I appreciate your help ^_^

That sounds about right. I drink 2-3 liters a day.
