Question: 196 pound male (14 stone), 6ft, with a belly! want to lose weight! !?
Hi, I am starting the gym tommorow!.

I am a 23 year old male, 14 stone (196 pounds) and 6ft!.

My bmi is slightly into the overweight, however I am increasingly concerned that i am putting on weight!. My stomach is an issue as I have gone up a trouser size!. And looking at old pictures my face seems much bigger than what it used to be!

Anyway, does anybody have any tips out there!? I have lose weight before but i was living on my own then, and was probably down to not eating!

I want to lose the belly and tone up!. I am not interested in becoming the next sly stallone, just want to be able to fit my clothes again!

I lost 1!.5 stone (21 lb) from 12st to 10!.5st (I'm 5 foot 8) last year as my jeans were starting to get a bit tight!.

I cut out the starches (bread, potatoes, rice, pasta) and started eating lots of fruits and vegetables and lean meats!. I'm not talking about Atkins here, but starches are basically "filler foods" with little nutritional value but lots of calories!.
Also, once you cut out the bread, you will be cutting out the butters and fats that go with them, and high calorie sandwiches!.

Then do a little exercise every day (A mile or two run should be enough) and the weight will drop off!.

Once the weight is off it may be possible to relax the diet a bit (maybe at weekends) and maintain the weight, but you can't go back to old habits or the weight will go straight back on!.

Remember it's a change in lifestyle and there are no short term fixes!.

You need to cut out junk food and start eating lots of Veg & Fruit!. Make sure you Grill your meat!. If you feel hungry drink a large glass of water as this can make you feel full!. When you go shopping make sure you are not hungry as this will make you buy all the wrong types of food!. You can also chew sugerfree gum when you are shopping!. Snack on Nuts, dried fruit, sunflower seeds!. Don't deprive yourself too much as you are allowed to have treats occasionally!. Really its just common sense!.
