Answers:
the best way to get started is to look for natural foods (ingredients you can actually pronounce)!. processed food is loaded with sodium, sugar, saturated fat and a slew of other artificial things that slow your metabolism, retain water weight and affect your hormones!. once you cut these things out i guarantee you will feel more energized and you should lose a few pounds very early on (mostly excess water from eating less sodium)!. natural foods are easily digested (faster metabolism) and are packed with vitamins your body has been literally dying for!.!.!. once you start eating nutrient-rich foods, you may find that your cravings for junk food are reduced!.

some good things to look for:

vegetables:
-salad greens (darker greens = more nutrition!.!.!. think spinach)
-cucumbers
-bell peppers
-tomatoes (cherry tomatoes are a good snack!)
-sugar snap peas (also a good snack)
-carrots and corn (both good to start, but you may want to cut back as you lose weight because they are high in starch)
-sweet (not white) potatoes
-any vegetable, really

fruits:
-berries! all are packed with antioxidants and are extremely good for you!.!.!. strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, cherries, etc!.
-apples
-oranges
-bananas
-peaches, nectarines
-pineapple, watermelon, canteloupe
-grapes (good, but higher in sugar)
-any fruit is better than junk food

protein:
-egg whites (the yolk isn't bad for you but they're high in fat)
-fish!.!.!. tuna is delicious and convenient, salmon is like a miracle fish (high in omega 3s, very important nutrient)
-shrimp, crab, lobster (without butter, obviously)
-chicken or turkey breast, deli meat (low salt if possible)
-frozen vegetarian food is actually really delicious, even for non vegetarians!. try morningstar sausage patties, boca burgers, etc!.

carbs:
-100% whole wheat bread (be wary, some brands add high fructose corn syrup or other unnecessary ingredients)
-whole wheat pasta
-beans (pinto, kidney, black, fatfree refried, garbonzo, etc!.)

fats (in moderation):
-RAW nuts (almonds, walnuts, brazil nuts, etc!.)
-olive oil
-flaxseed oil if you're feeling adventerous
-avocados
-hummus
-natural peanut butter

other goodies:
-lowfat PLAIN yogurt has no added sugar!.!.!. add your own fruit and sweetner (i!.e!. splenda) and you have a great tasting, low-sugar treat
-sugarfree or lowfat ice cream such as skinny cow
-100 calorie packs can keep you sane if you're craving junk food
-some well known snack food brands are making "whole grain" versions!.!.!. some are better than others, just be sure that most of it is a whole grain (should be first ingredient)

basically, anything that grows from the ground or comes straight from the animal is good for your health and your weight!. the less artificial ingredients you eat the more balanced your hormones will be, resulting in less mood swings, less headaches, higher energy levels!.!.!. pretty much any ailment can be linked to what you're eating!. for weight loss, try to avoid sugar and processed carbs as these mess with your blood sugar and cause intense cravings!. get a good cook book and learn to use spices to make delicious healthy meals!.!.!. it can be done! good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Focus on getting items you can eat on a regular basis that is not fattening!. I am only 18 and do not cook in my house, however I buy groceries for myself!.!. here is a few items you can purchase!.

Pears - Fruit is the best thing you can eat! For one it is full of water which your body needs a lot of!! Especially when your exercising!. Also when you eat fruit by itself, it gives your body a natural boost of energy!.

Nuts - Peanuts, Almonds, both great snack foods!. They can kill your appetite for hours and are not that fattening!.

Vegges And Fruit - Always
