Which is healthier, skinny as a child or skinny as an older adult?!

Question: Which is healthier, skinny as a child or skinny as an older adult?
As a child and as an adult up to age 70, I was always overweight, getting up to 296 as my top weight during my lifetime. I was never considered as weighing what was normal for my age. After turning 75, I began losing weight and have now lost down to 170 lbs and feel pretty good about it. For the first time in my life, I don't mind looking at myself in the mirror. Sometimes I'm proud of the accomplishment. My question, which is healthier, skinny as a child and maybe overweight as an elder adult, or overweight all my life and ending up normal weight in my senior years? If I had not lost the weight that I did, I feel that I might not be alive at 78, which I hope to turn in June. Ideally, being skinny during an entire lifetime is no doubt ideal, but many people who enjoyed that lifestyle probably never appreciated it, especially if they did not have to work at being thin. Medically, which is healthier, skinny then, or skinny now? Thanks.

Answers:

skinny as an older adult

I'd rather be skinny in my teenage years and 20's and 30's and maybe 40's. I mean, that's when it most matters to me because that's when you go around partying and picking up guys. By the time you're 50, you're probably married and they're stuck with you. It's either that or they pay divorce papers, but I've never really given it much thought since I've always been naturally skinny.
