Considering it's the outside that is most likely exposed to a plethora of germs, I wouldn't recommend it.
The egg shell does contain calcium that would be good for you, but not protein. It would be better to grind the shells into a powder and put it in food; it is a cheap and effective calcium supplement.
It's not going to kill you, but sit down while I tell you... it has absolutely NO nutritional value. Just stop doing it.
