you could do what is called "hybrid training" which is where you gain muscle and lose fat at the same time. Many experts say it can't be done but that can't be done but that is nonsense.
What you do is do what is called ssuperstacking. Start your workout session by lifting weight, not too heavy though try to stick between the 12-15 rep range. After lifting weights for about 45 mins end tthe hour (15 mins) with some cardio. examples of cardio are running, treadmill, aerobics, yoga etc. just do something that gets that heart rate way up.

I would try running. Running is one of the only sports/activites that gives most of your body a workout. Pullups and pushups will also help you get a "ripped" look. Start off slow, then increase your stamina and build off of that.
