dieting for a month and no results?!

Question: Dieting for a month and no results?
i have been on a strict diet eating 1200 calories a day and exercising by doing tae bo for 40 mins +. i feel like i havent lost any weight & i guess i look a little different but why are my results so slow? i was aiming towards 8-10 lbs per month. this is what i usually eat on a daily basis (i do switch it up sometimes) : oatmeal for breakfast, orange for snack, salad for lunch + some sort of meat, celery, carrots, or soy beans, fiber one bar for snack, and low cal crackers, & salad and something small for dinner. any advice? oh and i dont eat ANY junk food, soda, or juice.

Answers:

You're losing fat...but most likely gaining muscle.

Muscle weighs more than fat so during the first month or so, you should try to get past what the scale says and focus more on how your face looks and how your clothes are fitting you.

When i first started losing weight...i could tell right away by how my face looked and how my rings fit. The next thing was how my jeans and shirts fit. But the scale said i hadn't lost a lot of weight.

If you want to go by numbers...don't focus on the scale, focus on body fat %. You can get that monthly checked by a doctor or trainer.

I recomend this diet system, after following this diet for 2 weeks ive lost 10 pounds and my stomach has shrunk ALOT... I think everyone should give it a try

You most likely are losing fat, the only reason i can provide for your weight to be the same as before your diet, is that muscle is replacing your fat

one main result can be crash dieting. though u tried dieting for a month ,i guess u did crash dieting so u didn't lose your weight.

I've been on a diet for over a decade, where I am Gluten and Dairy free. As soon as I cut Dairy "completely" from my diet, I dropped quite a bit of weight (considering I was a chunky kid who ate cheese, and drank milk practically all day).

If you decide to "drop" Dairy from your diet, just a fair warning to you, read the labels of products. Because Dairy comes in many forms, and sometimes is in the foods you least expect. Anything that says' weigh, casein, or other milk bi product you should keep an eye out for. Also you'd be surprised how much "fat" is in Dairy products, like whole milk, 2%, 1 %, and even skim. Also cheese, butter, creamers, coffee creamers, bagel spreads, dips, and even yogurt are guilty of having high fat content. Take it from me, I work in a dairy at a huge grocery store.

Gluten also is a high carbohydrate food, and doesn't help with losing weight. For example take bread and look at the ingredients. It'll say wheat flour (essentially gluten) and look at the carbohydrates for 1 serving.

I eat pretty natural, like fruits, vegetables, meats like chicken, turkey, beef (low sodium though) but high in protein, and I also drink plenty of water, and juice.

I hope this helps you, and I hope that you will consider these alternatives. Remember you are what you eat. :-)

Thank you,
