Is walking sufficient exercise to lower cholesterol?!

Question: Is walking sufficient exercise to lower cholesterol?
I'm 22 and I was on medication a year ago that made my cholesterol go from 190 to 300. Now it's at 246, still pretty high. My doctor has put me on a strict diet and told me to exercise. I'm not a big eater as it is, but I'm cutting out foods with high saturated fat out of my diet and sticking to whole wheat instead of white. I don't want to exercise too much for a few reasons,

1. I'm thin as it is, I feel like exercising will peel more weight off of me I'm 5'6" and 122 lbs. I already lost 2 lbs being on this diet for only a week!
2. I have bad knees and a bad back from injuries from playing soccer in high school and college.
3. I don't have much time to exercise more than an hour some days as I work and go to class everyday from 8am to 8pm. I'm dead by the end of the day!

So I was thinking a few times a week to take 30 min walks. Is that sufficient in lowering my cholesterol?

yes, walking is a great way to get in shape..period.

No, exercising doesn't help as much as diet when it comes to cholesterol (although walking is one of the best cardio exercises)

Cholesterol comes from food, your body makes all the cholesterol you need itself and taking in too much additional is bad for you, the best way to get rid of it is honestly become vegan.

When you're vegan you cut out all these cholesterol filled foods such as dairy and meat and take in soya products which are really healthy. Just try it for a month, check your cholesterol levels before and after and make your decision after that.

That sort of exercise will make you generally healthier but it won't lower your cholesterol - in fact I think exercise to lower cholesterol is a mis-prescription, FAT people with high cholesterol are told to exercise because being FAT causes you to have high cholesterol and exercise can help you lose weight. Check this out because I am not absolutely sure but I think I am right.
What will help you to lower your bad cholesterol and raise your good cholesterol is to eat more healthy fats such as cold-pressed olive oil, hemp oil and especially flax oil. Also oily fish such as mackerel and tuna and salmon. Check these out, I do know I'm right on this point
