How am I supposed to stay under 120g carbs?!

Question: How am I supposed to stay under 120g carbs?
I'm on a diet, trying to lose around 1-3 pounds a week. I'm supposed to stay under 130g of carbs (I am fine when it comes to fat, sugars, and sodium, etc) but it seems nearly impossible. How can I do this without starving myself?

I have breakfast ( 1/2 cup cheerios and very little whole milk ), a morning snack (south beach living protein bar), lunch (small deli sandwich on whole wheat and a half an apple), an afternoon snack (usually a sandwich, very small bag of doritos or something else) and dinner, which usually varies.

I get hungry often, i can't cut out any of the snacks. I usually end up eating 150-160 grams a day. How can I lower this without starving myself?

Increase your fluid intake. Drink 2-3 cups of water before each meal. That will help you feel fuller longer. Also try a better complex carb other than cherrios. Try an all bran cereal or oatmeal, with a slice of whole grain toast and a fruit for breakfast. That should help you last until later in the day. Eat the whole apple at lunch, what do you do with the other half? - make apple cider. Instead of the doritos, go with pretzels. If you get plenty of complex carbs then you should be fine. With you doing the cardio you need the carbs for energy. That little that you go over shouldn't be too bad. Just keep your carbs complex - whole grains, fruits, and vegetables.

The other suggestions on here about increasing your protein sound good too. You are recommended to get .36 grams of protein per pound of body weight daily. For you, that's roughly 52 grams.

Exchange th cheerios & milk for six egg whites.
Exchange your dorito snack for another protein bar or a tuna (or salmon) on whole wheat.

Well that's great that you eating whole wheat...you can even just stick to protein and fruit for your lunch and breakfast.. so that you can place those good carbs in your dinner!

Try eating meals more centered around the protein. For example, have eggs for breakfast.
