Sometimes people say they're afraid they'll break you to make themselves feel strong, or they just have never seen someone of your stature. It doesn't mean you are actually weak. If your diet is good and you exercise and don't feel weak/tired regularly then you are okay. You are still very young and may start to put on weight later, so don't be surprised if you do, it's okay either way. You will probably be like your mom though. You may want to try eating more rich foods, it sometimes has to do with what you eat. If you are really skinny you may benefit from eating more fatty/rich/sweet foods. People who gain weight easily should not do the same. Accept yourself and be healthy, most important. Also, sometimes we learn our eating habits from our parents and get used to their eating, which may not be the most healthy. It is not uncommon for women to be underweight because of trying to live up to some image which is not something their body can attain. So try to eat to make yourself feel good/up to the job, don't compare yourself to your mom TOO much, and if she tells you you're getting fat, get a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc opinion.

i am 13 and 5ft and 97 lbs. even though i am not as light as you, people tell me the same thing. it is ridiculous! and btw embrace being petite! it really is a wonderful thing! i really would,t suggest gaining weight though
