How to help my mom stick to low-carb?!
Question: How to help my mom stick to low-carb?
Answers:
Be demanding about it. Don't let her eat the junk. Its not a bad thing for you to do that to her. Having a healthy lifestyle will increase your life span. Look up the atkins diet. She could do that. But i don't reccommend low carb diets. You will lose weight but it my opinion its not healthy. You should just make sure your eating the right foods. Eat wheat bread instead of white. Simple stuff like that. You could even try Weight Watchers. Trust me that works. My moms lost over 30 pounds and now she looks great at 40. I Don't do the diet, but theres healthy food around my house and im in great shape

Put reminder sticky notes all over the house (one on the fridge saying: do you really need this?) or encouraging ones (keep it up! you're looking fine today! way to go!)
Just an idea :)
chuck out everything that's fatty or with a high amount of carbs.
Low carbing isn't the way to go...she needs to simply make a lifestyle change and eat better...change her carbs to complex carbs (not simple carbs)...wheat or whole grain breads (not white), cut out things high in sugar, or that use white flour...brown rice instead of white...plenty of fruits and veggies (with natural, healthy carbs)...
Diets don't work long term so people need to stop wasting their time...they need to make permanent lifestyle changes they can stick with, and then treat themselves to something "naughty" on occasion so they don't feel deprived...
Add to that plenty of activity/exercise daily and weight loss or maintenance shouldn't be a problem!!!

Make it a mother-daughter thing. For example, the two of you plan your meal for the week. Easy things. I like beef and broccoli, sometimes with teriyaki sauce. Or, for the sweet tooth, protein bars. I also like chicken salad with lettuce or other greens. Or a meatloaf with cauliflower. That's how I lost 50 lbs. You can support each other, be the cheering team for each other. When I first started, my kids also rolled their eyes. I've been on so many diets and would lose and then gain it back. The low carb plan was the first diet that worked. Let her know you understand and give her someone to to without criticism. Losing weight is hard enough. You also need a buddy. Be there for each other.
