Do fixed braces hurt?!

Do fixed braces hurt?
I'm 24 and thinking of having a clear fixed brace wanted to know if they realy hurt and what are the draw backs of having one?

Depends, i mean if you think about it.. little children get braces and seem to cope with it.
But im 18 and ive got got braces and i think they KILL to be quite honest, not all the time dont get me wrong! They hurt when i got them put on, and they hurt everytime i go to the orthodontist! ill be glad when they are off anyway put it this way!
