aired on public tv about 2 years back an obese woman was taken to the hospital with chest pain but the hospital was unable to care for her do to her size and had to find a hospital that could accomodate her needs. The heart problem was the from an abcess tooth or a tooth ache or something along that line

As a dentist I can tell you that the answer above is absoluetly WRONG. An abscess is a localized infection, but it IS possible for the infection to spread into the bloodstream and travel to the heart causing problems and can also cause severe upper airway obstructions.
