HELP! Dark dot on my lower lip?!

Question: Yesterday before I went to bed I noticed small dark burn like dot on my lower lip ( if i have my mouth closed you cant see it, but when i open my mouth you can, it is few milimeter behind that middle line). It is not a bump and I tried getting rid of it but it wont go away. I did not bite myself or anything like that. I never had this before. It is not a beauty mark because there is no way it could grow that fast. What should I do? I will go see a doctor, but cant until tomorrow. I am 19 years old otherwise healty.

Typically if a lesion appears and stays for 2 weeks it is worth getting checked out. Please don't panic! Have your dentist look at it and take a picture of it. (You may want to take a picture of it, too). A referral to a specialist (oral surgeon) may be necessary for biopsy. It is great that you are checking out your mouth, as a lot of people would let things go unnoticed until something major happened. I hope things go well for you.
